Pumping water with diesel or grid electricity is a running cost that never goes away. A solar water pumping system uses the sun to do the same work, which makes it a practical alternative for irrigation, livestock, boreholes and institutional water supply. Vulfem International designs and installs solar water pumping systems for farms, institutions, communities and homes across Kenya.
Solar panels generate electricity during the day and a controller uses it to run the pump. The system pumps most when the sun is strongest, and water is usually stored in a tank so it is available at any time.
Irrigation, livestock watering, borehole and well pumping, and water supply for schools, health facilities, communities and homes.
A solar pump has no fuel cost and does not depend on the grid supply, so running costs are low once the system is installed. It also reduces carbon emissions.
Sizing depends on how much water is needed each day, the depth of the water source, the height and distance the water must be lifted, and the sunshine at the site. Vulfem International reviews these during the site assessment and designs the system to match.

The cost depends on the daily water requirement, the depth of the water source and the size of the system. Vulfem International prepares a personalised quotation after reviewing the site. Request one on WhatsApp at +254 739 629 118 or by email at fmugo@vulfem.com.
Output falls when there is less sunshine, which is why systems are designed with water storage so that supply continues.
Every site uses power differently, so Vulfem International prices each system and service after reviewing your needs. Send your details on WhatsApp or by email and our engineers will prepare a quotation for you.
To quote accurately we need your location, the type of site, your average monthly electricity use, what must keep running during an outage, and the make and size of any generator you have.
